Camping Locations
This national forest covers nearly all of North Georgia with sections east and west of I-75. The total land contained within the park is 750, 000 acres. It it home to nearly all of Georgia’s mountains including the tallest one, Brasstown Bald.
It’s got numerous state parks, wildlife management areas, and primitive wilderness to camp in as well.
This state park is right next door to the town of Pine Mountain, Georgia and Callaway Gardens.
There are few decently sized camping areas, a few little lakes, and some beautiful hiking.
In the heart of Civil War country, near Boonsboro Maryland sits Greenbrier State Park.
A lake with a beach, camping areas, and the Appalachian Trail all reside within the park.
Big Hart Campground @ Clark’s Hill WMA
Within the Clark’s Hill WMA on J. Strom Thurmond Lake is the Big Hart Campground.
Right on on the Georgia/South Carolina border near Augusta, there is no shortage of outdoor activities here. With local hunting, fishing, camping, and water sports, outdoor lovers have plenty to do.
This state park is just miles from Golden and Boulder, Colorado.
With spectacular views and hikes, and several large campsites, visitors will be sure to enjoy their time.
This state park near Colorado Springs offers views of both side of the state. To the east the rolling plains and to the west the foothills of the Rockies.
Just up the hill is NORAD, which always makes for a great campfire story.
