Black Bear Pass

This mountain pass in Colorado is one the most well known 4×4 routes in North America. It’s a one-way track and stretches 10 miles from the Million Dollar Highway to Telluride, Colorado.

Signage recommends short wheel base vehicles only. There are videos of people completing the trail in 3/4 ton pickups and other long wheel base rigs. Tight switchbacks and enormous drop-offs are plentiful, requiring good brakes, good tires, and a careful driver.
